Chocolan Estate, Sauvignon Blanc

The Chocalan estate vineyard is planted on steep slopes in the Maipo Valley. "Chocalán" is pronounced "Sho-kaw-lann", it means "yellow Blossom", name given to the area by ancient aboriginal tribes, as the yellow blossoms grow wild there. These untouched 340 hectares of countryside benefit from a unique microclimate made up of contrasting luminosity, altitude, Pacific influence, varied soil types and sharp temperature fluctuations.  Paired with masterful winemaking and careful nurturing for each vine, these are the ingredients of the winery's success.  This Sauvignon Blanc 2008, a fresh varietal wine with an elegant profile, has a beautiful shiny yellow color.  The nose shows typical notes of this varietal, unleashing impressions of tropical and citric fruits.  In the mouth, acidity is compensated by the smooth texture, leading to a fresh finish.  Crisp and easy to drink.
